If you want to expand the happiness in your heart, I have found that one of the best ways is to open your heart up to others.  My friend Meg from Just a Little Nutty and myself have joined together to start spreading the word about happiness and the awesome feeling it brings in peoples lives.

So, come on, get happy and join along to share with others what you have done to make others happy through the week.  I  want to personally share some of the fun and laughs I have had this past week sharing time with others.  Here is a recap of my week:

Picture
My little miss at the fabulous restaurant I took her to.
I took miss Maddi to a restaurant about 20 miles from us this past week.  Here is a pic of Maddi giving a kiss to the "Saucy Dog".  That also happens to be the name of this top tasting chicken wing joint located in the little town of Jonesville, Michigan.  All I can say is this!  We have wanted to try the food out here for some time now.  We finally made the trip to spend some fun mom/daughter time together and as I shoveled the chicken wings in my mouth, my daughter kept hearing noise coming from my mouth.  It was something like...mmmm, MmmmMmmmm!  No one at work believed me today when I said, "There wings are better than...."  You all know that nationwide famous chicken wing joint everyone craves, right?  It was hard for me to believe that this little hidden, fun restaurant topped it.  All I could say at work today, was "THE SAUCY DOG's Barbeque" needs to franchise.  Wow!

I also spent some long overdue time with the hubs tonight before writing this.  We decided to hang together and play a little bit on the computer together.  We played a little "search me" game on Google.  We typed our names in and seen what popped up.  I think I laughed harder than he did when we typed our names in.

As we typed in cowboys name, the real him didn't show up but a parolee out of Florida did.  The Florida dude was about 20 years younger and was quite popular on many of the social media sites like Facebook and Myspace.  We even viewed the guys arrest information on the web.  It gave us a good laugh.

We then typed my name in and it appears my name wasn't so exciting.  I had no funny stories to tell about my name.  I did however get to jump for joy when I typed my name in and found my name and website to pop up first on Google.  I raised my hands and did a little Happy Dance.

When all was said and done, it was the time spent together that mattered the most.  We laughed, we hugged.  We just took the time for each other and sometimes our lives seem to get so busy we don't do that enough around here.

Many of you have been wondering what Meg and I have been up to for the last few weeks.  I shared a few days ago that you would hear about  it in the Friday post.  We have been busy working away as part of the Pioneer Beta Test Team for a new upcoming social media site, www.Happify.comHappify is a site created from a group of scientists from Harvard University, Stanford University and the University of Pennsylvania and game designers to help teach the skill of happiness.  Yes, that's right.  I said - TEACH.  The Happify site using activities to help you master specific happiness skills.  The skills you will learn at Happify are Savor, Thank, Aspire, Give and Empathize.  I can not tell you how privileged I personally feel to be a part of this program.  I'm even more excited that we were just given the go-ahead through email last night to be able to start inviting others to this site.  I would love to have you participate and become part of this amazing new program to help teach you how to become more happy.  If you would like to become involved, please just send us an email and we will do what we can to help you with your invite.

I love what I am learning and really love how I am learning to apply all the skills.  What I really find exciting and inspiring is the design of Happify.  You will find it is very inspiring like another social media site that many love, love, love!

Keep smilin' everyone and remember......"Come On, Get Happy!

What have you done this week with others to bring happiness?  Meg and I would absolutely love to hear about it?  Won't you join us in sharing.

Want to make sure you don't miss any future posts?

You're always up to something, aren't you? Hapify sounds intriguing, are you planning to tell more about it soon, I hope. Sounds like something teenagers should be required to do, can you make that happen?

Oh I love the concept ... and it's so true ... setting out to make someone else happy really makes everyone happy! My hubz and I work from home, sitting next to each other at a desk. I tend to get very involved in my work ... as in tunnel vision ... and he often says that I'm ALWAYS busy and don't have time to talk to him. So this week, I made special efforts every day to remember that he's sitting right next to me ... and I took chatting breaks. And the result? I saw a lot more smiles this week and ... he took me out to dinner. It made me feel good to see him happy ... and it was great fun to go out! I think I'll keep it up! :-)

Thanks for stopping by and connecting. I can so relate to what you share about how we get busy and just need to stop and reconnect at times. So glad you made the hubby smile. Lets make it a goal together to keep that happening with our hubbies. ; )

My number one Personal Commandment is "Happy is a Choice". Optimism doesn't come easily to me so I've been attempting my own Happiness Project (Google Gretchen Rubin for info). I would absolutely love to be part of this. I will be sending you an email soon! :)

I love your personal commandment...its awesome. I also am a huge fan of Gretchin Rubin and her Happiness Project. She rocks the word happiness. I am working away at getting everyone connected and talking with the developers. I have you added to the list and will connect soon when the developers answer a couple questions for me. I contact you soon through the email you sent.= )

Well, my FIL went to pick up his mother from the hospital last Saturday. He's 60ish and she's 90 something. On the way to the hospital, he hit a patch of black ice and totaled his wheelchair van. He was lucky to get out of it alive. Hubby spent the day in uber-stressed mode. After he got his Dad home from the hospital, and came come himself, I asked him what I could do for him. He reached over, squeezed my hand and said that I'd already done it. I smiled but inside I was melting. :O)
