I got a special surprise recently waiting for me in my inbox when I checked my email. It was from the staff of one of my most favorite businesses around. You have all been hearing me talk up the amazing We Move Forward 2013 Conference and how Dedicated 2 Life is proud to be one of this years sponsors to such a great and motivating conference to so many.
Today, I would like to introduce you to Kate Milton, the 2013 Conference Coordinator of We Move Forward. She has taken the time to write to you all a little something awesome about We Move Forward. Enjoy and Live Inspired my friends and followers:
We Move Forward Moves Far Beyond Other International Women's Day Conferences
Her talk was good. “It would be nice if I could actually meet her” you think to yourself. The motivational message - similar to the ones you heard at last year’s International Women’s Day conference. You check your phone - 21 emails. You leave the conference hall, place a call, respond to some emails and text messages, wrap your scarf around your neck, put on your gloves, bundle up in your winter jacket and head outside with your usual friends & colleagues to find a deli for lunch. Over lunch you chat a bit about this morning’s experience, but find your conversation shifting to what the ideal International Women's Day conference experience would be.
All of you agree – it would be engaging, exciting - new people & new surroundings - a break from what feels like work, a celebration of women and wellness, and you would be challenged to reach for more than before! Heck, while we’re dreaming, why not have the conference take place on an exotic, tropical, island. “Okay, we’re getting carried away” you mumble. “Or maybe not”, says Patty, the ever optimistic and resourceful friend. She shows you a photo on her phone with a picture of a group of women dancing in what looks like a Mexican town square. “It’s called We Move Forward”, she says. She goes on to read:
We Move Forward is an annual International Women’s Day conference & celebration that takes place in the most fitting of places – The Island of Women (Isla Mujeres), Mexico, March 5-8, 2013!
We Move Forward is:
A Fusion of Body, Mind and Soul. Daily inspirational speakers kick off each day and are followed by interactive and engaging discussions – everyone has a voice at We Move Forward. Mindful movement sessions of yoga, pilates, dance, and meditation are woven throughout the 4 day experience. Inspiration is harnessed into action long after the conference ends.
VIP involvement. Inspirational speakers actively participate in all aspects of the 4-day event. You will have plenty of opportunities to rub elbows with all of them, and get to know them as women, not just celebrities.
Age is just a number. Active women of all ages participate. Energetic 20-somethings mingle with wise women in their 70s, and a variety of ages fills out the half century in between.
The tropical Island of Women – is there anywhere better to celebrate International Women’s Day? Isla Mujeres is conveniently located off the coast of Cancun. It is easy to get to and affordable once you are there. And, on Isla’s most southern tip sits the Mayan temple of Ix Chel, the Goddess of Women, Healing and Abundance.
