I'm thinking really hard about what it is that I did this past week for myself and I have something to be very honest about. The truth is that this week I didn't do anything for myself and my week was filled with doing for everyone else. The truth is it kind of bums me out that I am writing this during a time that I am celebrating getting happy and spreading happiness. It's not that I am not happy but let me tell you what-- there is a reason as a personal development coach that I share the importance of giving yourself time for you. When you don't, you end up feeling overwhelmed and in some ways a bit of a burden on your shoulders. Yes, I shared this in full out honesty here. Ever felt like you can't catch your breath?
Here's the thing. If this is how we feel, we need to take a step back, walk away and give ourselves some time for YOU. It's important so that you don't make a pattern of it and wake up one morning feeling like you don't know who you are anymore. Just allow yourself to be you and have time for you.
So here is my committment to myself this week. I am giving myself time for me. The family can manage without me a little more so that I can take care of myself. Believe me when I say, they will like me a whole lot more "happy", than grumpy and miserable. That's my goal for this week.
Thanks for following and linking up. I appreciate you. Don't forget to stop on over to Meg's page and hear what she did for herself to get happy this week. I hope her story is a bit more positive than mine. I shared this because sometimes as a coach, people forget that we go through the very same emotions and feelings that everyone else does. It's just that we tend to like to check ourselves into reality a bit more so that we can practice what we preach so to speak. What did you do this week to get happy? I would love to hear about it and get inspired! Please leave a comment below and share.
