Living Intentional!
Nothing else can give us the warm feeling inside and the rush of positive energy as doing something nice for someone. Good deeds are usually something simple that doesn't require too much conscious effort on our part, whether its toward an animal, a complete stranger or the very planet surrounding us. Doing good helps us feel focused, balanced and in tune with the world around us. It is the way of the open palm, the way of accepting what we cannot change and giving what we can to encourage kindness in others.
Although sometimes it may be quite hard to offer kindness to those who don't accept or value it, you need to remember you're not doing kindness for yourself, but for those who need it. Every bit of positive energy added into the circle of life will push society toward a better state. Every person you help will likely reciprocate with someone else eventually. Good deeds can have many faces and in this article we will give you some simple ideas on what you can do to become a better person while helping others down the same path. We begin with the following:
- Smile!
The simple act of smiling is capable of changing the world around you. Whenever you meet a sad, grumpy or angry person try maintaining a positive attitude. Sometimes people will change their outlook and they will smile back, instinctively mirroring your mood. You can bring people out of an emotional hole by just being nice to them, depending on their problems.
2. Give out compliments Doing so will boost the self-esteem of the person you're complimenting, often inspiring them to do more with themselves. Giving out a compliment not only does that but it will also make you feel better as well. They are very important as people's vision of themselves often depends on the opinion of others. You can literally make or break a human being by applying the right words.
3. Sparing change You can do much with just a bit of money. Helping a homeless person, someone short on change at the store in front of you or anyone else that requires a bit of money. Even the street performer will be glad to see whatever you can spare. This won't hurt you in the long term but it will help others.
4. Let someone go first In today's highly competitive world people often do everything they can to get ahead of others. Being kind includes letting others go first, giving away your space and stepping back. Allowing others to go first may have a good reason such as emergency situations or something similar. You will quickly find out how relaxing it is to do that for others.
5. Love your pets Considering their unreserved and unconditional love, pets are something we must treat with respect and the love they deserve. We are responsible for their lives, so treating them with love and care, giving them enough attention and more will not only make us feel better, it will also boost our own feelings of warmth and love.
