Use a scheduler! If you don't, you are going to find yourself working an insane amount of hours and feeling as if you never quite get a grip on things. I personally use Hootsuite! It allows me to schedule my articles and much more through several of my social media sites I use. I know that many of you might have already heard about scheduling but I am hear to tell you that if you don't use it, you really need to. There is nothing more exhausting that jumping from one site to the other to do social marketing. Breaking it down as much as you can makes it so much easier.
Use a Planner or Calendar! Like it or not, if you want to be successful, it's really important to have a game plan. That means to have a productive month, it is helpful to lay it out ahead of time and not fly by the seat of your pants. Believe me, in the online business world, there are enough things that pop up on us that help us take side turns along the way. The more we can plan out and try to have a good attempt to succeeding in productivity, the better off we will be. One thing I find helpful is to plan out prior to the upcoming month what topics I plan to write on, what products I might be promoting, block time in for working toward meeting my goals that I might be working on for the month, etc. It's absolutely alright when I have to readjust a few things but by laying out a plan for the upcoming month, I can make every attempt to meet my goals.
Prioritize what will help you Succeed! This is so important and I stress this because while I say prioritize like we hear all the time, I think there is one thing we forget about. Prioritize What? Let me go a bit further with this. Yes, we make lists and prioritize what is so important but if you are going to make money in your online business you need to prioritize what the product is, how you are going to market it and identify why other will want the product. You need to commit yourself to a specific amount of time and commitment behind a product or service and prioritize the tasks you need to put in place to make it succeed. Be careful not to get caught up in our own game off prioritize our to-do lists and our daily routines that we forget to make a prioritized plan as to how to make money and generate a revenue for ourselves. An example of where I am going with this is....
1) I am going to generate $200 in sales through eBay this month
a) I will set up my account
b) Each week I will designate 1.5-2.5 hours to list at least 7-8 products and do packaging for shipping
c) I will launch my weekly products so that they will be auctioned for the same amount of days and I can do shipping for the products all together.
d) I will schedule blocked time for going to the post office
2) I am going to generate $200 in revenue through writing reviews or sponsored ads.
a) I will contact or bid on 4-6 jobs a week until I reach my goal quota for the month.
b) I will try to keep my rate affordable to companies but fair to myself.
c) I will block approximately 1-2 hours a week to write the articles needed to meet my goal and fulfill my commitment to the companies who hire me.
3) I am going to generate $200 in revenue from freelance writing.
a) I will bid on 4-6 jobs a week until I reach my quota for the month.
b) I will block the necessary time to fulfill my job with my clients
c) I will do top quality work so that I get good reviews and my rates increase.
I've just shown you how to plan to generate $600 in the month in just a few hours a week. Be sure to prioritize money generating goals in addition to the other day to day tasks we get caught up with.
Have Razor Focus! This is so important to all of us. It's so easy in our busy online world to get distracted and it happens! Knowing what distracts us and what works to help us keep moving forward on our productivity is crucial to success. For some of us it is helpful to plan our day out the night before. For many of us and I am one of them, email and social media sites can become a huge distractions so there are times when we have to tune them out and that means turn them off for the time that we need to focus on what it is we want to get accomplished. I think it's important when talking about this topic that we don't just use a razor focus on the larger tasks but we also use them on small ones so that we can feel as if we are accomplish many things. That is important. Take time through the day to walk away from the computer and refocus your thoughts so that you can get back to work with a fresh mind.
