Many of you know and have heard that I have become unexpectedly ill to the point where I have not been able to maintain my online business over the last few weeks. Which is why I am bringing up the discussion of "The Back Up Plan". I can not emphasize enough the importance of having a plan for if the day comes that you need help with your online business. Without a back up plan in place, you should expect a few things to happen. You can expect to lose followers and watch your page views drop drastically in front of your eyes. Yes, it happens. If it does happen, don't go into a panic attack, just do the best you can do and take one step in front of the other. I want to share a few things today that you should do for your company to prepare for if the day comes that you may need to use your personal back up plan. Here are some tips for you if you find yourself in this situation one day and you are very likely to face this at one time or another at some point:
- Try to create a few posts to have for a reserve to use for if the day comes that you need to pull an article -- call it an article reserve and you know you have it for "those" days when you need them.
- Remember these networks I have had you building over the last few weeks? Well, hopefully you have formed some good quality working relationships by now. Consider a few of these individuals that you might contact and build a mutual agreement with that if the day comes one of you needs a guest blogger due to you being ill or away for a few days, you can work together to accommodate and help each other.
- If ever there was a time to have an account set up for pre-scheduling posts, this is the time to have one. If you haven't yet set up an account with Hootsuite.com or Twellow.com, please do so now. There are many other websites that schedule posts for you but those are two popular ones that many use. These sites will allow you to schedule some of your past posts to be published again so that you at least have articles being published.
- As I prepare for my own surgery over the next week, you will see on Dedicated 2 Life, many scheduled posts of my past articles, some guest blogging going on from some fantastic business colleagues and friends I have and a few posts I have been trying so hard to get built up in a reserve for the next couple weeks for you all.
**Twitter Tip: Use "connect" on your twitter page and see who is retweeting you, sending you personal tweets and including you in hashtags. Include these people in lists and stay connected with them. They will remember you and retweet your work. You should also spend a minute or two when you log into twitter reading what others are tweeting and retweeting a few of them. People remember those who retweet and then they retweet your work also.
**Google+ Tip: Share others posts, just as you would on facebook or any other platform. You should also remember when liking someone's work to click on the +1 button for them. They will remember you when you do! Did you know that for every ONE person who adds you on Google+, the platform will find 3 other google members that the two of you have in common together so that you can grow your audience? Just a little tid-bit if you weren't aware. So, remember when you get an email saying someone has added you on Google+n to open that email and see who they have found that you have in common. It's an excellent way to build your network. This is one more reason I have fallen in love with Google+. It seems they do a great amount of work FOR YOU! Building a network on Google+ has been one of the easiest platforms to use for that for me so far.
I apologize but with me being ill I have not been able to research and test any more companies or links for you the past few weeks. I strongly encourage any readers this week to include a comment here to share with others what good monetizing resources they may use to help each other.
That's all for this week everyone and I appreciate everyone coming back each week to follow this eSeries. As always, wishing you the best of luck on your business and feel free to leave me an email if you have any questions. I will reply as I can. Normally, I reply within 24 hours but with my upcoming surgery I cannon give a timeline to when I will return the email.
