Some of you know the story I share about my childhood and the violence I was exposed to. Although (of course) I would never have wanted any of that violence to have happened where someone was harmed, I am going to share that those events in my life led me to be the advocate I am today. I probably wouldn’t have spent thirteen years of my life working in crime victimization or legal advocacy. I’ll tell you this – I sure am glad I did! It’s something I am very passionate about on every end of it. I even feel the need to understand the criminal end of it all. Long story short everyone, life rocks our world at times and it creates who we are throughout our life.
I’m sharing an article on Healthline this month called “Resilience – Stronger With What You’ve Overcome! An Inspirational Lesson In Strength Building!" I really think you all will like this one as it talks about some great ideas of how to deal with life when life kicks us when we are down. I also shared a great little motto in the article about the word “YOLO”. If you don’t know the concept yet, oh my goodness please go read about it. My daughter actually taught it to me. Although, I mentally think this way most of the time, I loved that today’s youth are taking on this positive mind set.
So I just think it’s important to become your own Rocky Balboa self and personality, “Take on the Challenge” of life’s obstacles and live your life being resilient! You’ll become stronger, mentally, physically and spiritually. You will grow into a stronger self and be prepared for future situations to come.
Trust me when I say, we all go through tornado style challenges. That is why I am talking about resilience today. I want you all to know you can take those situations on and overcome them. I didn’t want to leave you all out on this topic. If you want to read more on the topic and get some of the tips I shared on getting over the humps and the feelings of a caveman hitting you in the head with his club, I do hope you take a minute to read the Healthline article I posted this month. I really think you will get a lot of use out of it.
Why is this topic extra sensitive to me these days? I am faced with a lot of life obstacles right now myself. I think as you follow my posts over the next few months you will understand more of how life is totally kicking my butt these days. But hey…..it happens to all of us and I am no different than anyone else. So, pour yourself a glass of your favorite drink (I am personally liking fruit smoothies these days) and take on the challenge to become a stronger person (no matter how much it might suck sometimes). Life rocks! We just have to skin our knees every once in a while to enjoy the fun of it!
